I had a realisation this afternoon that most people who have been reading this aren’t as likely to go out and search for the odd wines that I seem to gravitate towards, so for this review I went to the local bottle shop and bought this hoping that it was more easily accessible, the reasonable price of $14 also should help.
The grenache colour certainly comes through more so than the shiraz, with a beautiful vivid violet. It had a perfumed plums scent, with definite spice notes. The palate had a velvet tannic feel from the shiraz, with earthy and clove. The short length doesn’t hurt it, neither does the clear youth coming through from the shiraz.
Overall I definitely enjoyed this wine, and will purchase it again. 8/10
